At St Piran Dental we are a group of Dentists with Enhanced Skills, or DES (formerly DwSI), and offer support on a referral service to GDP’s in our areas of expertise. Through our commitment to continual education we satisfy the GDC standards 6 and 7 for referrals in these fields.

Our commitment is to provide a wider choice for patients with faster, more convenient access within our local communities. All referrals will be offered access within 2 weeks of referral, and we have free on site parking available. Last year we saw 95% of referrals within 10 days.

As a referring practitioner, we will keep you fully informed of your patients progress, and on completion of treatment your patients are returned to you for continuation of their care.

Sedation

Chris has been providing conscious sedation procedures on referral for over 15 years and the clinic is well recognised as a dental sedation centre. All our sedation team are qualified and meet the new Royal College 2015 Standards on Conscious Sedation. As a primary care referral centre we are happy treating all ASA (American Society of Anaesthesiology) class 1 and 2 patients, undertaking all aspects of dentistry ranging from minor oral surgery, endodontics and crowns to simple restorations and hygiene.

Endodontics

By using operating microscopes, ultrasonics and digital imaging we are able to offer advanced endodontic solutions to patients. Garrath is our DES Endodontist and has been accepting referrals for over 4 years. All types of cases are accepted ranging from simple endodontics to fractured instruments, complex access and re-root treatments.  Our focus is on a quick resolution for your patient so that they can return to you quickly to have the tooth restored.

Cosmetics/Occlusion

Chris is an advanced cosmetic dentist and as well as lecturing on cosmetic dentistry nationally and internationally, is also on the BACD committee, chair of the Peninsula Cosmetic Dentists and is an advisor for two major dental companies. He is able to provide advanced dental aesthetic solutions for patients with more complex cosmetic needs. These can range from crowded or misaligned teeth, to deep overbites and toothwear cases. Often he works in conjunction with GDP’s for this service as feels it is important that the referring GDP is involved as much as possible in their patients care.
