Chris and Nik took over the Perranporth dental practice, that you know today back in in 2007. St Piran Dental has grown steadily into the successful place you see now while remaining at heart a family owned business.

Along the way, Chris has built a reputation for being an approachable, understanding dentist and his treatment of anxious and dental phobic patients is renowned across Cornwall and beyond. He has a canny knack of being able to explain complicated treatments in a simple way. And our feedback from you tells us this is something you really appreciate.

We understand that not everyone enjoys a visit to us - or indeed any dentist. We’ve developed a strong team and this means we’re confident that we always deliver the very best service. 

Chris spends some of his time out of county, delivering lectures and for his role as a mentor for student dentists. Over the past few years he has worked with some really exciting technology that combines to give the patient greater understanding of the outcome of treatment while reducing the need for drilling. 

Bespoke treatment packages

Developments such as 3D printing have vastly extended the limits of dental treatments we can offer and the types of bespoke package for every patient. Chris has watched this technology in action and is really excited to bring it to Cornwall. We’re pleased to now be offering these options as everyday treatments for our patients, but as you know our space here at St Piran is limited. 

We’ve explored the best way that we can offer these cutting-edge treatments that are very new to the UK. The positive feedback we’ve had from trial days here in Perranporth earlier this year show us that this is as exciting for you as it is for us. After a lot of head scratching and a few delays, we’ve decided that moving the practice to a new, larger location is not the way we want to grow our business. So our next step is to open a second practice, Dental Logic in Truro.

This means we can continue to give you the very best treatment and by seconding some of our Reception team to Truro a few days a week, we’re sure that you will receive the same high levels of service in both practices.

Expanding in Truro

By expanding rather than relocating we can keep St Piran open with no disruption to service. This is really important to us as it means availability of our dental and hygiene team is not affected. And we can also offer short-notice treatment as required. 

As a current patient here at St Piran Dental, you’re free to chose either site for your treatment. Our extended service hours in Truro means, quite simply, that Saturday appointments are available for Hygiene  and Whitening. And of course you can visit Truro for our new services, such as scans and cosmetic Botox treatments.

Visit us on Little Castle Street just round the corner from Truro Museum - Dental Logic Truro is a short, level walk from Victoria Square and coffee shops and restaurants are close by. We’re the only dental practice in Cornwall to be offering this 3D XRay and scanning technology - in fact there are only 2 other practices in the whole of the UK, and these are in Manchester and Liverpool. 

Bespoke treatments in a boutique designed space

We’ve chosen Truro because it is central and easy to get to, with easy transport links. We’ve transformed a former shop into a bespoke designed space with a boutique hotel feel about it. Although this is a blank canvas for us, we’ve continued the ethos from Perranporth that you know and love - this is a space where we hope you will feel at ease.  The calming blues and yellows are designed with this feeling of relaxation and wellbeing in mind.

Going the extra mile

In our careers as dentists, every time we hear that someone doesn’t quite understand what a new treatment is we’ve gone the extra mile to explain and reassure. We’ve often wished we had a larger dedicated space in Perranporth for these extended consultations. In Truro, in the Design Suite, you can spend some time, away from the reception area to simply talk things through with either Helen, our Treatment co-ordinator or our dentists, Chris and Stephen. 

In the relaxing, private space of the Design Suite you can see what a treatment involves, watch a digital scan being made or see how your own smile can be transformed after a bespoke treatment package.
